F.W. WOOLWORTH'S A GREAT COMPANY To LEARN FROM!
I HAVE "NEVER" TOLD THIS STORY! Before I Start, This MAY Take More than ONE BLOG-SORRY! REMEMBER, I Said My FIRST Store as a F.W. WOOLWORTH'S Manager-I had to TAKE The FISHES "OUT" of the PET Department in the SUMMER, JUST TOO "HOT"(They Would Not LIVE)! WHEN, I TOOK OVER THE STORE!! Only "ONE" Fan, Out of THREE and "FEW' Lights in the ceiling and WINDOWS,-"WORKED". Woolworth's POLICY Back than, Was You Could "Only SPEND $50.00 A WEEK on Maintenance with out-APPROVAL"! WELL, HERE IS THE STORY! I Was A "YOUNG" and "BRAND NEW" Manager. SO, I called A Electrical Company and ASKED "HOW MUCH It Would COST to "FIX" MY STORE. The QUOTE was $2,500.00. A Lot of MONEY Back Then, WELL "NOT KNOWING", I Asked IF I Could BREAK, The PAYMENTS-DOWN TO $50.00 A WEEK!! They SAID "YES"!! MY Store Got Fixed!! NO ONE From the Company, EVEN Said a WORD TO ME!! I USED THE "RULE" as a "GUIDE LINE"!!! I Was Promoted to Another Store in LESS Than a YEAR!! FIVE Managers "FAILED", Before ME! Good Way To START! REALLY "BIG" SMILE, NOW!!
